We booked the entire 14-bedroom B&B for the weekend and we couldn't have been happier. In the morning our breakfast was truly one of the best we've had and it was so wonderful to have the entire inn to ourselves. My husband and I are big supporters of family run businesses and we're just so incredibly proud of what Akwaaba was able to do for our special day.So imagine my delight to learn about The Mansion at Noble Lane. After visiting 25 wedding venues throughout the tri-state area, we finally visited The Mansion at Noble Lane and immediately set our hearts there, with 7 months to plan the entire wedding. If you are looking for an intimate, comfortable and enchanting setting for your wedding day, The Akwaaba is it! I took my now husband there for his birthday in March and while there, we met the lovely owner, Ms. We were just in conversation about the events they have there and she just so happend to mention that aside from being a bed and breakfast, they also do wedding ceremonies and receptions. We said we would only have a ceremony and reception if we found a place that was affordable and truly represented us.
To this day, I still think it was an act of God that we booked our venue at the Akwaaba. The site coordinator, Erica was amazing at keeping us updated and making sure we had everything ready for the big day.
We loved it so much that we can't wait to celebrate our anniversary at another Akwaaba property-- the goal is to stay at each location at least once and hopefully celebrate our 10/25-year anniversary at The Mansion at Noble Lane. Akwaaba Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place for our wedding.
We wanted to get married in a place that was meaningful, with lots of charm, elegant with a rich and tasteful history - and this was the place.
Visitors tell Greenwood that staying in the Black Memorabilia Suite–with its old quilts, rag dolls and Louis Armstrong wax record from the 1940s–is “like going to Grandma’s house down South.” The romantic Jumping-the-Broom Suite, with double Jacuzzi, is popular with honeymooners, whom Greenwood greets with champagne, strawberries and cream.
Breakfast, served in the dining room, sun porch, garden–or even in bed–includes blended juices, salmon cakes, scrambled eggs and scallions, cheese hominy grits, corn bread, fried apples and turkey sausage.
