but all done with impeccably good British taste and style.
You can find out more about this coming accessory, called the Docking Station, in the Neowin report Surface Dock: The peripheral we have all been waiting for.And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes. At the beginning of the film, Graeme and Clive state that their itinerary will eventually take them to New Mexico.--Paul Microsoft curiously claimed yesterday that "the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is available today for preorder." As it turns out, that accessory has been available for preorder since late June—I ordered mine on June 21, a bit over a month ago.But what's changed is that the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station can now be preordered in the UK.Curious that Microsoft didn't actually state that in a blog post that ostensibly announces, ahem, that preorder.
Instead, the post focuses on the benefits of the coming device, which will provide a ton of desktop expansion capabilities, including 3 USB 3.0 ports (in addition to the one on the Surface Pro 3, which can be used simultaneously), 2 USB 2.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, one mini Display Port (in addition to the one on the Surface Pro 3, which can be used simultaneously), an audio jack and a security lock.
Update: It appears that Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is actually now available for preorder in many other countries (beyond the US and Canada) and not just the UK.
I've updated the article title (but not the article below) and am waiting on a full country list.
Another day, another report about next-generation Surface hardware from Neowin.
And this time around we get news about one of the more eagerly-awaited Surface accessories.
Here's what I know about the Surface Docking Station. It will be compatible with Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2, but not Surface RT or Surface 2. The Docking Station is kind of a hulking device where the Surface Pro/2 slides in at an angle and is held in place with by arms on the side that are pulled out to release the tablet. The Surface Docking Station provides a mini Display Port port for video-out. It provides one USB 3.0 port (on the side) and three USB 2.0 ports (on the back). The Docking Station features a 1 Gbps Ethernet port. It also includes dedicated microphone and headphone/speaker ports.
